We are looking for an experienced Head of Design to join us and help us to the design the future of KidsKonnect!

Today, there is a unique opportunity for a senior head of design who is eager to impact a highly relevant industry. We’re looking for a design leader who will drive the user experience of the next generation of childcare and primary education products. As Head of Design you will build, lead, and sustain a scalable design organization by leveraging best practices and establishing bar raising processes.  

About the job

Tasks and responsibilities

  • You will tansform the user experience for the wide variety of KidsKonnect users across the platform
  • You will pave the way for KidsKonnect to become the leading European platform for childcare organisations and primary education by building and executing on the design vision for the next generation of early education tech
  • You will create a scalable, consistent, intuitive, and user-friendly experience for the next generation platformCreate the design vision, represent design in the organisation and build a world-class design team while also being hands on yourself
  • You will develop and design concepts and creative material
  • You will direct, manage and lead designers across product teams
  • You run strategy workshops with the product teams to help inform the product roadmap
  • You will set up an efficient user centric design workflow / process within all squads using best practice design platforms such as Figma
  • You will report into the CPO   


About you

  • You have extensive design experience in design-led B2C organisations or agencies
  • You have a  track record of leading design teams, you have led and built design teams from the ground up at B2C companies
  • You are passionate about making a positive impact through technology
  • You have a hands-on, can do, get it done leadership style, not shying away from doing groundwork yourself when needed for example by producing superior graphics if needed or facilitating design sessions with product teams and users
  • You are able to design distinctive, intuitive, creative artefacts (wireframes, screen mock ups, prototypes)
  • You are an expert in command of industry-standard design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • You are experienced in conducting user research and user testing
  • You have exceptional collaboration skills especially in the context of cross-functional teams from product, engineering, sales, marketing, consultancy and support
  • You have the demonstrable ability and willingness to develop innovative, exciting solutions to business problems
  • You speak and write fluency in English and Dutch

Our central and team meetings are in Almere. This means that we usually meet each other in Almere. We also have satellite offices in Kampen, Haarlem, IJsselmuiden, Hoorn, Leiden, Brunssum and Waalwijk.
